Q. What's it like working for a company that's been around for so long?
AMLLP is the only CPA firm that I've ever worked for. It provides me a great sense of stability. We have a number of long-time employees and a stable employee base. I've also witnessed client life-cycles, watching them grow from small business concerns to something much more substantial. I'm now getting to see how the next generation is managing the business.
Q. If you could go back and change any aspect of your life, what would it be?
I'm not the type of person that regrets decisions. Typically, I'm very thoughtful about my decisions, I make them and I move forward, and don't go back and revisit them. However, if I could change anything, it would be to have met my husband sooner, so we could have more years together.
Q. What is your proudest achievement?
Having a very successful relationship with my stepdaughter. She's an intelligent young woman who has now graduated college. She sometimes calls me for advice and I'm happy to pass it along. However, that doesn't mean she takes me up on it! Still, I'm very proud that we have such a good relationship.

What do you like to do when you are not working?
I am an avid reader of Sci-Fi and Harry Potter-type books. I also love scuba diving and underwater photography, so we make them the focal point of our vacations.
Deserted island wish list:
People; I like the companionship.
Favorite vacation:
I've had so many great vacations that I couldn't pick just one. However, I do have two favorite locations. My all-time favorite is Palau, located in Micronesia. The diving is spectacular and the people are very friendly. My new favorite is Bali. It takes a long time to get there, but, relatively, it's an inexpensive place to stay, the people are super friendly and the diving is great. It's a wonderful experience.
Quotable quote:
"Life is short, take your vacations."
Most prized possession:
My photographs and digital images
What book(s) are you currently reading? How about magazines?
Typically, I read The Smithsonian and National Geographic from cover to cover. If I bought a book and liked it, I'd be up reading until 2:00 am, or until I finished it. It's easier to put down a magazine and turn out the lights. That way, I get some sleep.
Favorite film(s):
- The Lord of the Rings (entire series)
- Harry Potter (entire series)
Word that best describes you?
Adventuresome (at least in my mind)…
