Armanino is active in our community. We take part in firmwide charitable programs throughout the year. In May 2009, the firm is closing its offices for "The Great Give." Armanino's 'Great Give' will celebrate volunteerism by giving back to the community. Employees are given the day off so they can roll up their sleeves and volunteer at one of 26 nonprofit organizations throughout the Bay Area. Projects ranged from making crafts to decorate a children's infirmary, providing maintenance work, sorting food in a warehouse, teaching at an elementary school, feeding the homeless, restoring a garden, playing games with seniors, working with animals and other projects helping Bay Area nonprofits. Employees were able to sign up for projects of their choice depending on their interests and location.
In 2007, the firm launched "AM Gives Back." The program was designed to raise money for organizations chosen by our staff and provide volunteer hours in the community. After 15 weeks, Armanino had donated more than $115,000 to 45 San Francisco Bay Area charities including nonprofits, educational institutions, public service agencies and other community-based organizations. Armanino also volunteered more than 1,000 hours of time to nonprofit organizations. To raise money, the teams held creative events such as "Armanino Idol" and a Bowl-A-Thon, as well as more conventional fund raising events such as wine tastings, car washes, picnics, casino nights and the like.
Our partners are also active in the community. They serve on boards, fundraise and hold many financial treasurer positions. One of the firm's partners started his own foundation called the Bay Area Leadership Foundation which is an organization dedicated to giving low income students a chance for college. Throughout the year, members of the firm organize opportunities to participate in a wide number of programs such as Adopt a Family, Daffodil Days, and various walks to raise money for cancer. The firm is a certified green business and has a Green Committee dedicated to cutting down on waste and improving sustainability both in the office and at home.
